Ugo Bienvenu
Ugo Bienvenu is a French director and illustrator.
Ugo Bienvenu began his artistic training at the École Estienne with a DMA in illustration, before entering the animation film section at the Gobelins school, where he co-directed his first short film as part of a team, "Jelly Sunday".
In 2010, during his stay at the Californian Institute of the Arts (Los Angeles), he turned to experimental animation and directed his first short film, "Je t'aime", as well as the video clip "Fragments" for musician Chris Adams on the zotrecords label.
Back in France, he joined Miyu Productions as a director. He directed the video for the track "Voyage chromatique" for Renart, on the Dawn Records label, with Kevin Manach, thus beginning a close collaboration.
As a student-researcher at the Ecole des Arts Décoratifs (Paris), he also directed the opening short film for the Mexico City International Film Festival, "Une île", and the "Singing" video for Agoria, on the in finé label.
In 2014, Ugo Bienvenu took David Vann's beautiful novel "Sukkwan Island", Prix Médicis 2010, and turned it into a laconic, profound object, where time, fears and feelings float like the mist of a breath in an Alaskan winter.
In 2017, he was included in Vanity Fair's "Les 30 éclaireurs" list.
In 2018, he joined forces with Remembers, designed for Hermès and signed a Thierry Mugler web campaign. He directed the "Sphere of existence" clip entirely in 3d for Antoine Kogut at pilule et pigeon.
