Elie Wajeman

After studying theater and film at university, Elie Wajeman enters the Screenwriting Department at La Fémis. One of the Emergence laureates, he directs several short films, including Jacques a dit (2001) and Los Angeles (2007).

Aliyah, his first feature film, is selected for the Director’s Fortnight in 2012 and receives the Audience Award at the Premiers Plans Festival readings in Angers. His second film, The Anarchists, opens at Cannes’ Critics' Week in 2015.

Elie Wajeman's latest film, The Night Doctor (2022), is nominated for a César for Best Actor for Vincent Macaigne and selected for the Cannes Film Festival. It wins the Audience Award at the 2021 American French Film Festival (Los Angeles).
