Dante Desarthe

As a producer with Les Films du Bois Sacré, Dante Desarthe produced and co-produced about twenty short and feature films.

As a director, he came to prominence in 1995 with his first film, Fast, starring Frédéric Gélard, Karin Viard and Jean-François Stévenin. He directs a second film in 2000, Dad on the Run, with Clément Sibony, Rona Hartner and Emmanuelle Devos. In 2006 and 2012, he follows up with Je me fais rare and Je fais feu de tout bois, for which he invents the character of Daniel Danite, a filmmaker cursed and proud of it, whom he plays himself. He closes the trilogy with Je ne réponds plus de rien.

In 2014, he wins the Best Director Award for the TV drama Le Système de Ponzi at the Luchon Television Film Festival, adapted from David Lescot's play of the same name. In 2016, his TV film The Wall-Crosser, a contemporary adaptation of Marcel Aymé's short story of the same name, wins two awards at the Luchon Television Film Festival, and also wins the 2016 Best TV Film Award, presented by the French Syndicate of Film and Television Critics.
