Alexandre Steiger
After studying law, Alexandre Steiger trained at the Conservatoire National Supérieur d'Art Dramatique with Philippe Adrien, Dominique Valadié and Alain Françon. In the theater, he has worked with Denis Podalydes, Jacques Osinski, Anne Kessler, Marie Rémond, Jean-Baptiste Sastre, Frédéric Bélier-Garcia and Gaetan Vassart. In 2016, he joined the Compagnie des Chiens de Navarre under the direction of Jean-Christophe Meurisse. He worked with several directors : Mathieu Kassovitz in L'Ordre et la morale; Jallil Lespers in Yves Saint Laurent, Manu Payet in C'est compliqué, Solveig Anspach in Queen of Montreuil and Louise Michel; Rose and Alice Philippon in Les bêtises; Nicolas Saada in Espion(s); Anne Fontaine in La Fille de Monaco; Emmanuel Bourdieu in Les Amitiés maléfiques; Erwan Leduc in Miaou miaou fourrure and le soldat Vierge. In 2017, he directed a medium-length film "Pourquoi j'ai écrit la bible" for 10/15 productions. Awarded at the Festival premiers plans d'Angers and at Clermont Ferrand, where it received the SACD prize for the best first work of fiction. The same year his first novel was published, "La distance" (Léo Scheer), shortlisted for the Prix Alain Fournier. As a director he won the SACD prize for best first work of fiction at the 2018 Clermont-Ferrand festival for his film Pourquoi j'ai écrit la bible, pre-selected for the 2019 César awards. In 2018, he directed the short film De longs discours dans vos cheveux for the 3e Scène.
