Thierry Thieû Niang

Thierry Thieû Niang is a dancer and choreographer. In parallel with his creative career, he initiates choreographic workshops around cross-disciplinary projects - dance, theater, music, visual arts and literature - with professionals and amateurs, children and seniors, autistic people and prisoners in France and abroad. This work has been the subject of numerous film recordings, the most famous of which, Une jeune fille de 90 ans (2017) directed by Valeria Bruni Tedeschi and Yann Coridian, was shot while he was leading a dance workshop with Alzheimer's patients in the geriatric ward of the Charles Foix hospital in Ivry. The film was well received by the public and won numerous awards.

Officer of the Order of Arts and Letters, winner of the Villa Medici Hors les Murs in Vietnam, the Unesco-Aschberg Foundation in Kenya and the Prix SACD 2019, he works with art schools, conservatories, neighborhood associations, hospitals and prisons in various cities.

For the 19/20 season, he is a guest at the Avicenne hospital and the MC93 in Bobigny, the TNP in Villerbanne, the École du Théâtre du Nord and the Opéra de Lille, the Théâtre Gérard Philipe in Saint-Denis and the Théâtre de Carouge in Geneva.
