The Vanishing

Réda lives with his parents in a middle-class district of Algiers, and holds a job in the country's biggest oil and gas company, run by his charismatic, authoritarian father, Youcef. But beneath this veneer of apparent success, Réda conceals a deep-seated uneasiness : he lives in his father's shadow and can't say no to him. His brother Fayçal, on the other hand, leads an open rebellion against Youcef, and ends up leaving the family home for good, leaving Réda to face his loneliness and frustration. One day, the father dies and something unexpected happens: Réda's reflection disappears from the mirror.
